What is CQLUG?
We're a locally based Linux User Group in & around Rockhampton and Gladstone.
How can I join CQLUG?
Because we're a small group at this stage, we have no formal membership application or records, and no formal structure or positions.
You can join by
- signing up for our mailing list,
- chatting with us on IRC, and
- coming to our meetings on the 2nd Wednesday and 4th Saturday of the month.
We do sign in to the meetings, as a record of who attended.
We meet at Rockhampton Library Technology Centre Room 3 at 6pm on the 2nd Wednesday every month and 1pm on the 4th Saturday of each month except January and December. We managed to have a meeting in January this year!
Does CQLUG cost anything?
No, just bring your enthusiasm!
Whats in it for me?
Our people have a wide range of experience and interests, in using and developing Linux. We have people who just use it, people who make great use of it in complex computing systems, and people who write code. Not bad for a small bunch of enthusiasts, huh?!
We can provide CDs/DVDs of software, and advice on how to use them, some of our meetings include talks on how to fix problems if they arise, or how to make better use of the wide selection of software available. Have a look at the documentation, much of that is a written record from the meetings.
Who do we cater to?
Everybody, from a first time beginner to professionals.
What are we about?
Assisting people to explore the possibilities and benefits of Linux, at home, in education and in business environments. We want to expand the Free and Open Source Software community in Central Queensland and show people what “Software Freedom” is about.
We enjoy what we do!
